Well, i figured for my first post on this site i should start with something that shows just how fanatical i can be when it comes to carpentry. I guess its the reason i found this place and i’m sure everyone here understands the feeling when you get going on a project and don’t want to (or just can’t) stop.
This chair was built using a Milwaukee Magnum drill, a Sawzall, some screws, and a staple gun. I found a whole bunch of 2×4 and other scrap down the street and stayed up really late one night sawing and drilling using my toolbox as a work table and my foot for a clamp. Everything was built on the fly so I didn’t really even use the measuring stick much, i would cut one piece to fit then set it on top of the next one to be cut and matched. I’m sure the downstairs neighbor hated me after that. Believe it or not its actually fairly comfortable, very sturdy, and I used it as my primary living room chair every night for almost a year before I finally found a halfway decent couch. Sitting in it now.
