Just finished this for my mother in law. The wood came from an old walnut tree in her yard where she grew up. The handle is ebony and bamboo is used in the finger joints.

Thanks. Required a lot more handtools than I’ve used before. Found out that cutting mortises for hinges by hand is not as easy as it looks!

Came out very nice, good job! My version of this box sits next to the bed filled with the wife’s amulet collection.

Thanks guys. This is my third wood whisperer project ( cross cut sled and assembly table). I really enjoy his teaching style and videos. He’s definitely helped my woodworking
