Project Information

This was my first piece of work into the refurbishment world. My wife wanted something different so I told her to find something that she finds interesting. Word to the wise to the rest of the men out there, do not offer a task like this. It started with just a sink and I ended up with a floor (hickory) wainscoating, luandry platform with new washer and dryer, laundry chute (not pictured) and the barrel with a hammered copper sink.

In all everything worked out quite well. The only thing I would have done different is to add a backsplash made from the rest of the timbers. I will just have to build a steam cabinet to work the planks straight then build the backsplash.

The barrel is actually anchored on a set of hidden hinges on the left so it can swing out to get to the plumbing if need be. Did not want to create a door and cut through the face anywhere so the hinge was best choice in this case.

I have never seen a sink/stand like this. Every detail looks perfect.

One of the most unique vanity sets I've seen! The hammered copper, and whisky cask go well together!
