Here is an Intarsia Rooster that was a gift for my mother last Christmas. It is my third go at the intarsia craft. It is made of Bloodwood, Butternut, Caribbean Pine, Ebony, Jarrah, Red Oak, Walnut, and Yellowheart…
I found the pattern in the Fall 2008 issue of “Scrollsaw Woodworking & Crafts” – Pattern by Kathy Wise

Beautiful! I’ve always wanted to try Intarsia.

SgtSnafu,
Great looking rooster. Your choice of woods and thier color is super. I have to try that intarsia someday, it’s on my list for sure. Congratulations again on an excellent job.
Sincerely,

Great looking. I knew right away what it was. You are very good.
Well my try at a little humor.
I’ve considered Intarsia to be something that I will try. But I can appreciate the amount of work to make aii of the pieces convey the lifelike design. A great job.

Great and beautiful creation. Your use of woods is right on. I think you did very well for only a third time. Better than good, excellent.
