I turned this Peach Thing sometime last year, when the wood was still soaking wet. It was my second Peach shenanigan. The cracks were there when I started turning, and got bigger as I progressed. I like the way it turned out. My Really Big Thithter liked it enough thatm when she was rearranging my living space a few weeks ago, she hung it on the livingroom wall, like a painting. This pleased me.

Truly beautiful piece of wood. Mother nature at her best.
It’s a peach of a project.

Bob.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

That’s a wonderful bowl. Aussie Bob beat me to the ” peach of a project” punjoke…
Did you turn it to final when wet? Or rough turned, let dry, turned to final?
The grain in this wood is remarkable, and the checks add character.
I don’t think peach trees get this big here….

Nice one Mark. The cracks just lend a bit of reality and personality to the piece. Your sister is right. It would look good on just about any wall.

You continue to amaze me, Mark. I wish there were something in the pictures to show scale. It looks bigger than any peach tree I’m familiar with.
