“does the table open to provide storage?”
yes. see pic #4. I will line the bottom with felt and posibly make inserts to fit the chess pieces at a later date. [gotta get the pieces turned first] :-] I have troughs for the checkers made but do not want to put them in till I see how everything else looks. then I can locate them.

Really nice table and excellent stools. Best of luck on the chess pieces.

skeezics,
Great job on the table and chairs! Which one took longer the table or the two chairs? Are you going to use walnut and ash for the chess pieces as well? I really want to see and hear what you encounter when turning those chess pieces. I’ve got that idea so far back in my head on a list of things I want to do it aint funny. Unless you’re going to use a duplicator, I shiver at the thought of sixteen pieces all the same dimensions. I’m thinking the pawns would be the hardest part! Good to see you again on LJs’
Sincerely,
Ken McGinnis

the stools took nearly as long as the table. I have duplicator! no way am I that good…. :-]> using maple [instead of ash] and walnut for a couple of reasons. 1.maple turns much easier than ash and 2. I dont have any more ash! hehehehe. thanks for lookin Ken.
