Hi everyone
Here is a cedar deck i did, it is 16 ft x 16 ft

It is a pretty easy design ,I picture framed the top of the deck itself then ran all the 2×6 on a 45 degree angle to the center of the deck.
The 4×4 post are a true 4” square.
I got the cedar from a local farmer who has his own saw mill.

Very nice. Did you apply some kind of sealer to the cedar?

As we say in Oz – put another shrimp on the barbie!

It has two coats of stain on it

It,s big enough to dance on after the shrimp.

Great deck John – is that one that you built for yourself? Looks like mother nature Christened it for you. I really like the look and I bet that Cedar smells great. The skirting around the bottom was an excellent touch.

it’s beautiful
I love the look of the wood;
it seems really sturdy as opposed to some of the pressured treated decks out there.
And yes, very inviting!!

Thanks Matt
A deck this size takes 2-3 days at the most.
They go pretty fast.

Great deck! I’ve built a couple big cedar decks in my day. I really like the way your turned out. What stain did you use?
