This my Music Stand that I just finished to hold sheet music to be given as a gift It is made out of Easter Cedar. The design is a combination of ideas that I found searching Lumberjocks. The Pins to adjust the height and tilt are the only thing not made out of cedar. They are Rosewood Violin tuning pegs
I got the Easter Cedar from Hobby Hardwoods of Alabama which does their own kiln drying, and they do not dry all the oil out of the Cedar. It planed beautifully with my hand planes. I challenged myself to see how much of this project I could make only using hand tools. Unfortunately, I ended up having to use my table saw for some of the rip cuts. So about 90% was with hand tools.
