Here we go again. I’ve had made 3 of these already in the last 7 years for our little ones. This time around brother-in-law and his wife were expecting their 1st at the same time that we were expecting our 4th. As always making parts in batches for multiple projects is most efficient…..making 2 of these part intensive things is a quick way to make your shop feel cramped! Ours is made of oak to match the others in the house. The in-laws wanted the natural color of maple and preferred a flat top on the headboard. Having helped my father make 2 of these for my sister as well means I’ve now been involved in 7 of these and I’ve nearly memorized the process.

Nice looking cribs, want to make one whenever we have our first kid. What did you finish them with?

used minwax Gunstock stain and minwax wiping poly on the oak crib. Simply put a few coats of minwax polycrylic on the maple one.
