Well, the word got around the office that I can assist in setting up people’s rooms, so the requests started coming in. Here are a few of the things I have put together for the folks at the office.
One person requested a bed 5 feet off the floor with a desk and work area underneath.
Since space is tight in some of the rooms, another person requested a desk that could fold up against the wall so that he could work on his computer and then fold the desk out of the way.
One of the Chief’s I went through training with before heading over needed a desk to study his online college materials. The space in his room had a 8 inch indent in the wall, so I built a long desk that fit in the space he had so that he could put his papers and computer on the desk anduse a folding chair so that he and his roommate could get in/out of the room.
I have also been asked to build some shelves that fit above beds, so the first shelf is one that fits in the corner and the second holds up a computer and books for a person who only has a bed to sit on in her room. (I also built her a set of shelves that sits on the floor) Unfortunately she was killed by an IED attack about two weeks after I finished fixing up her room.
The last picture is another bed I was asked to create since the bed this lady was given didn’t lay flat and she kept rolling off the bed. Now she can sleep and fit foot lockers under her bed.

Nice work, having been over in the sandbox in 05 I know how much these improvements are sought after. You have done well in acquiring the materials, finding usable materials was a challenge. Good work, and thanks for your service.
