This simple plywood canoe was built from a set of free plans I got from Bateau.com. I was very impressed with the accuracy of their numbers, it went together beautifully. I built it from 1/4” meranti plywood. All the seams are glassed and the entire boat is coated with epoxy.

Nice looking! I purchased some plans from Bateau.com also a while back. I built the PK78 Sailing Dingy and it was great fun! We needed a dinghy to go back and forth from the boat to shore when we anchored out. Building a boat is a great experience no doubt.

Hey cypress, I’m an Acadian, we’re nearly blood. This bateau is sweet in the shallows, I swear it’ll float on a damp sponge. I use a double paddle and it will go like stink on the big water, terribly unstable when you’re getting into it but once you get going she is a dream to manuver.

Nice lookin craft. That’s one project that’s always scared me. All those curves and joints would be a challenge. Good work, BTKS

This turned out great. Looks like it would be fast in the water. Nice job.

Great design for fast straight ahead paddling, keep that thing FAR away from whitewater though, with little to no rocker it’s got to turn like the Titanic…
