8 1/2 foot tall windmill. Made entirely from 2×4s. And one small piece of plywood. 4 skateboard bearings. Two bolts and some screws.

the bolts are 7/16 diameter i beleive and about 3 or 4 inches long. and thread directly into the wood.

the problem with skateboard bearings is their OD is 22 mm. i didn’t have a forstner bit 22mm and i didn’t want to buy one, thoe i should have. i used a 7/8th which is a tad bit too big, and made the bearings sloppy. but on the hub part, the paint actually made up the difference and the bearings fit snug. but the tail they are a little sloppy, i might be able to shim them with some scotch tape or something.

thanx guys!

yeah for some reason the photos were upright on my phone but when i uploaded them they flipped. so i just used my laptop to upload them this time.

I always wanted to built one of these but our subdivision wouldn’t allow it.

This may help…
I found that holding my phone this way when taking photos keeps them straight. Also to flip a photo on you computer right click on the photo and clicking on rotate.
