I have a plain sisal/jute door mat outside my garage entry door that gets water logged when the rain is from the wrong direction. The only way to have it dry is to lift in off of the cement and set it on edge.

When it does get wet It is heavy so I took some old cedar fence boards, cut them up into 3/4” strips, dadoed the upper rails on my router table, glued them together with Titebond, and voilĂ  a door mat riser.
One weekend of waiting for the glue to dry!
But now I am ready if it ever rains in California again.

Despite grate opposition, Hans went to the mat and emerged victorious!

DeLayne, you must be feeling better!
Or, at least your funny bone has not been affected!

JoeinGa, if it snows in San Jose California we will move somewhere else!
We have lived here for almost 20 years and have only seen flakes in the air that melted before they hit the ground!
