We recycle just about everything, so I built this Kitchen Recycle Center a couple of years ago to hold all of the recyclables so they don’t pile up on the kitchen counter while waiting to be taken to the outside bin. There are two blue plastic bins that we fill up each week then take them outside and transfer to the big recycle bin for trash day. The bottom holds bags, newspapers, etc.

Nice build that actually saves natural resouces. How many pounds of paper, metal, glass and plastic do you think you have recycled?

Nice. I’ve been thinking about cutting a hole thru the kitchen wall to the garage for the same thing…Keep on recycling…

Rog asked me, “How many pounds of paper, metal, glass and plastic do you think you have recycled?” I had no idea and was curious, so I just weighed a weeks worth of recycling at it came to almost 20 pounds. This is probably lighter than usual since I typically have more glass bottles and I don’t this week. But even at 20 pounds a week that is over 1000 pounds recycled each year! That’s more than I would have thought.
