Sorry I only have one picture of this one. All cypress construction. When I built it, it ws a bit too tall. It was for sale for about a year and I finally decided that it needed to be lower. I cut the legs off on the ends with the intention of coming back and raising the bottom shelf, but the piece sold before I could do it. I hated to see it go before I’d “fixed” it, but the buyer didn’t seem to notice or care, so whatcha gonna do, right?

I usually use a multistep method for staining. I can’t remember precisely, but for this I think that I deastically thinned down some MINWAX Provencial, put two coats of that (soaks in and dries pretty quickly) then came back with a full strength, much lighter MINWAX stain (can’t remember which one) and wiped off the excess immediately after applying. Once it dried, I bufed it down with Coffee Brown Paste Wax. That’s what gives it the warm, creamy finish. It probably sounds more complicated than it is.
