We ordered a black painted and oak-seated double rocking bench for our front porch. Not surprisingly, the online company screwed-up and sent us the wrong bench. They sent us one in an oil-stain, but the same physical build and style as the one we wanted. The wrong one that they sent was also damaged in transit (slightly cracked wooden components; back-rest, arm-rest, and rockers) and so due to the damage, they didn’t ask me to ship the mistake-rocker back to them! I was irritated at their initial mistake, but delighted that I’d have the chance to keep it, fix it up, and refinish it to match the other one! They sent us out the next “correct” rocker to replace the one they’d sent us by mistake, and this time, they sent the right one. Now I had two double rockers, and a darn-good model to work off of for refinishing the broken, oil-stained one! I got to work on making them match.
This is step 4, Making it cute (because, yes… I’m a chick…) and putting the refinished bench, next to the bench that came like it was supposed to. Try to tell them apart. I dare you.
