A special thanks to LJ Dan (I believe it was Dan, if not I’m sorry) for the inspiration to complete the back side of the kitchen cabinet. I just used a sheet of luan, cut out the pattern, attached it to a painted backer, and trimmed it out. I am all about Cheap! Hey look at that hardwood floor…It’s cabinet grade plywood ripped and tongue & grooved for about $250 for the entire kitchen. I don’t care if you can’t sand out the dents, they add character. It fools everybody! These cabinets are my phase one of the cabinet project (the Missy is semi-happy), I don’t have all the drawers and doors done yet but I’m getting there.

Very nice!! I hadn’t even thought about accenting the end panel of the cabinet. You took a good idea and did super bringing it about.

You’re right about it being a “peninsula”....and it’s a very unique one at that ! Very interesting design and your flooring is also one of a kind. : )

Very nice and eye catching. I can totally relate to the “cheap” side of things. We refer to it as being frugal (?) Recycled lumber… nothing better

Looks nice. Cheap, but what the heck. As long as you all like it. Right?
