I received a request from a client o build this crazy headboard. They had a picture of what they wanted it to look like and we ended up making it from solid 8/4 Myrtlewood. When it was all done the thing was massive at over 7 feet wide and 6 feet+ high. I built it like a giant lamination and cut out the parts I didn’t want. I did a lot of power carving on it to remove most of the waste. It turned out crazy looking, but nice. It ended up getting shipped to Ohio in a huge crate that I built for it. This kind of project is why I like using the custommade.com site, you just never know what people will ask for and it challenges you to come up with the piece. It is finished with a poly varnish.
