Well, I was assigned a roommate and an old shipping container about two months after my arrival. I was glad to be out of the 30 man tent, but there is no furniture availble for the rooms, so I had to come up with a plan that would be workable for two people in a 16×7 foot room. Since I am working 5 am until midnight each night, I figured the roommate would like it far better if I didn’t wake him up in the wee hours of the morning, so I built the beds in the back of the room with some storage under the beds. The shelves hold a microwave and some drawers on the wall hold the rest of the kicthen supplies. I built a desk with some shelves on the wall and then added a DVD rack and small shelf to hold little supplies and a lamp. Add in a fridge, TV and some folding chairs and we have the makings of a comfortable room. The room now has a study, entertainment area, dressing room, kitchen, and sleeping area. I even split the electric so that the two lights in the room work independently. Hope the year goes by quickly.

Necessity is the Mother of invention!! It’s almost like you were given an RV that didn’t have any furnishings. Especially considering that you are getting all of your material via the scrounge method I’d say you have done a great job!
Keep up the great work, on and off duty!

I thank you for keeping all of us safe, I can only hope that our next generation will learn from our mistakes, keep safe over there, hurry home, and God bless. Very nice creativity, it’s the little things that we tend to forget about here.

I love seeing your projects. You always seem to come up with some simple solution to any problem, with only have very basic tools, and scrounged for supplies. Thanks for the inspiration. God bless and come home safe.
