Folding Wine Table for Picnics

Two Christmas presents, one for my daughter and one for my daughter in law. This was another one of those requests: “dad look at the picture, can you make one?” I got some ideas from Steve @ woodworking for mere mortals but made some changes. I made provision for four wine glasses and also added a foot piece (pic 6) for those times that you would want to sit on a patio. The joinery for the foot piece looks like this:

If you want to use it for a picnic on the grass or on the beach, the foot piece comes off. I also added a locking pin (pic 4) to ensure that the table does not fold up with half a bottle of wine on it.

My SketchUp plan can be downloaded over here.

I like your stand. The ones I made were also from WWFMM design but I also made it for four glasses. My stands were just a chunk of old fencepost with a cross member for stability

Good project! I thought you used an old quilt or blanket for picnics.
