My daughters both received some overpriced dolls for their birthdays and asked me to build a bed for each. I told them I would but didn’t give a time frame (that usually means it will be a year or more). My wife began looking at purchasing furniture for the dolls. I bumped these beds to a priority 1 when my wife told me how much she would need to spend to purchase the beds. If anyone’s looking to make a million bucks, start building doll furniture!
Anyway, I was able to use wood from around my shop for 80 percent of the beds and my wife made the mattress and pillows. Total cost was less than $15 per bed and the girls are happier than they would have been with the $100+ each beds.

More than $100 for a doll bed? I hope it makes itself after the doll wakes up.
Your version looks great. It’s good to see your girls are getting involved in the process too.

These look great! I have made about 8-10 beds for people, all from scrap.

The beds look great. My girls have been asking me to make some also. I better get to it before they move on to something else. It’s great that your girls were part of the build. Makes it special. Good job!
Have your say...
