So here’s the latest version of the Copper Patina gate series. I took advantage of a major cooling period in the Sacramento area to get outside for some projects. The last picture is the first gate which despite the photos, is much greener than the second. You really can’t tell, but the the second gate has a variety of blues and not as many browns as in the photo. You can view the blog series at http://lumberjocks.com/newTim/blog/10223. I think the next patina project will be incorporated into a headboard. Stay tuned and thanks for all your support.

Is that redwood?
Looks nice I have been wanting to make one since I saw the Wood Works show where Marks made it.

Redwood? Yup. Clear Beee grade. Check out the two bog series for more details on the patina.

Beautiful gate! I have two gates that could use some more interesting work on them. Too bad you’re on an opposite coast, as I could trade some maple for some redwood! I had my husband build my grape arbor out of furniture grade redwood so to keep pressure treated wood away from edibles. It lasted over 10 years but the carpenter bees have drilled so many holes in it, it’s quite unstable. Now the paper wasps are grinding down my yellow cedar fence! So much for trying to stay away from PT wood.
