I was asked if I could build a Little Library to match the style of a client’s house. Core construction was 1/2 ” exterior grade plywood which was covered with a 1/4” thick poplar brick veneer and overlapping poplar siding. Making the brick veneer and the siding pieces were the tedious aspects of the project. 21-1/2” tall X 25-1/2” wide X 16-1/2 deep. All that remains is a paint job which will be done by the customer. It will be mounted on a 4 X 4 post near the driveway. Folks will come by, select a book and leave one in it’s place.

Just got a photo of the Little Free Library that my customer painted. She did a great job. Her library is open for business and serving her neighborhood.

Very nicely done and a great idea with the book exchange .
This gives me some incentive to build something along this idea as I was just given a collection of old POPULAR MECHANICS box which I found very interesting and I am sure a lot of others would enjoy .

Thanks for the post .

I like the book exchange idea! I was reading about it and thinking about trying it but I really like your idea of matching the build to my house! Very nicely done!

Dale, Very cool. With the effort made I hope the customer gets it right with the finish.
