I thought I’d wait till after my vacation to make a copy of Simon’s Kerfmaker. But I just couldn’t wait. So here’s mine. I used a carriage bolt (that was what I had in the shop). After drilling the 1/4” dia hole and a recess, I hammered the bolt in, creating a shallow square mortise on the hole. No lock washer was therefore needed. If every LJ who made a version of the Kerfmaker posted it here, we might have one of the longest chain projects running.

Yes I agree for the price of buying one, thers not alot too it .Which in a way justifies my argument I made here ages ago that we need to be more confident as woodworkers and bite the bullet and make some of our own stuff. I would love to have section dedicated to making our own tools and jigs etc what do you think Martin and Guys n gal jocks .Alistair

Chuck, you gave me an idea I think I will make one to just post it to keep the chain going… LOL Give me a week or a little I am in the middle of making my first Rocking chair so afterwords I will make one…
