I had a very nice looking 2 1/2” Black Walnut slab sitting around that I’d wanted to make into a table (or something) for a while. A few weeks ago, I started checking online for ideas and found someone here at Lumberjocks who had made a coffee table from her walnut slab. Lots of helpful advice on that project post. I’m am happy with the way it turned out visually. Functionally, the legs should be something more stable than hairpins on a slab of this size. They look nice and I see why they’re so popular but I would go with something sturdier if I were to do it again. I’m very new to this and it was a fun learning experience.

I like it. Live edge slabs are very cool.

Excellent job! What are the dimensions? I have an oak slab I could try this on but it may not be wide enough.

Thanks, all. Dimensions are roughly 2 1/8” x 30” (at the widest point) x 72”
