So the story of this project is that my Mother In Law Really loves Monopoly games with the family.
I said to my wife that i would love to try to make her one of wood
So I measured and marked off all the lines that i would need to router
Next up was filling all of the newly routered lines with a dark tile grout
some places i sanded deeper to make the board have a more antique or well used look
then one coat of stain and then the hard part started i had to hand paint all the small letters and numbers but i did have a blast it was a lot of fun for me.

And then i used some trim and built up a base and added a drawer in the front to hold the game pieces .

Hope you like it i had some fun building it

Very nice, she will be very proud of that, may even let you win a game or two. Looks like that was a lot of work.

This should be a gift she will value forever. Should also make a lot of points with this. Nicely done.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and I’m very proud of how it turned out it did take some concentrated time of about three days from concept to reality.

Again thank you so much

Awesome idea. I don’t know anyone who loves monopoly that much, but I would definitely attempt this if I did.

Mom-opoly was the only way i could think to personalize it without just simply putting her name on it .

Thanks again everyone it was stressful start out with the sanding of the grouting. I have since read more into using different methods of inlay and if you have time and power sander the grouting is easy enough, just have to let set overnight.

Great idea! I can see a lot of people taking inspiration from this and making similar things as gifts this Christmas season

Thank you and hopefully everyone gets a little inspired this Christmas season to make a gift or two

It has been a tradition in my family for as many years as I can remember to make something.
