This is a music box and a small jewelry box that I made to place in a gallery. The box is made from 5/4 Florida walnut and Spalting Grapefruit wood. The Walnut that was resaw and cut so that it could be assembled to crest a beautiful grain-wrap pattern at the corners. The joints of the jewelry boxes are mitered and accented with splines, The draws are made with interlocking box joints for strength. The box is finished with two coats of M. L. Campbell Satin Krystal which is post-catalyzed conversion varnish finishing system which is Water white and non-Yellowing. The box has a 18-Note Musical Movement that plays Greensleeves The last photo is the top of the Spalting Grapefruit wood

Overall it is an awesome box- I really like the lid & how you have the spring activation for the music.

Thanks for sharing.

Very nice music box. I really appreciate seeing your thru the end piece switch lever. I have made probably 10 or 12 of these and have thought that might be hard to do. Yours sure gives me ideas to try. Thanks for showing your thoughtful work. Just an idea I use is to cover the movement box with some thin plex-i-glass.
