Making Art from Scraps Again

Project by Jay Neale III posted 120 days ago 328 views 1 time favorited 6 comments Add to Favorites Watch

This is just some offcuts of ash, curly maple, and recycled cedar fencing, along with some of the black walnut I bought from Fritz Hannaman, the local sawyer. I glued the pieces up in different configurations, cut them, shaped them and finished them. I think they turned out pretty nice.

You can see one of these candle holders for sale at my Design Style Guide site.

Great little candle holders. These small projects are veery satisfying to knock out.

Very nice build. Great use of scraps.

Keep it up.

Jay, this is a wonderful way to “get rid” of offcuts. We can’t seem to muster the will to toss them but wonder what to do with them when we run out of room to store them.

I can see where these candle holders would be an interesting change of pace in the middle of a long build when you just need to complete a project in order to get the adrenaline flowing again.
