My daughter has been asking for a desk ever since I built my son’s last summer. I built it the same way I built his with the exception that I used poplar (instead of pine), and I installed glue blocks on the pocket hole joints around the apron. The glue blocks really stiffen up the frame, and make it a more solid desk.
There is a short write-up with a link to the original desk with its dimensions on my website at http://www.bobek.net/joe/woodworking/kids-desk_2/
