Stackable cedar shoe rack

I am also tempted to call this “The 5 shoe shoe rack”.

My first project in the new shop, completed about a month ago, before my table saw arrived. A simple project that got me introduced to using some of the new tools, it’s made from dimensioned cedar from the big orange store. Joinery is mortise and tenon (a first), the racks stack by using biscuits that aren’t glued. Originally I planned to make this a bit larger (as it fits about five shoes per rack) but due to a lack of lumber and one big oops while cutting the tenons on my miter saw it came out to be about 22 inches across. I definitely plan on adding another rack or two in the near future, or maybe just making a whole new rack that fits more than five shoes ;)

That’s a clever trick with the biscuits!
