ToGoMan,
Turned out GREAT…something to be proud of…bet it is passed down from child to child for generations. Bot I bet you are more proud of what is “IN” the bed than the bed its self. He is cute.
By the way…I see you have been a member for about a month…but this is your first post…so welcome to LumberJocks !!!!

Looks great! Where did you get the plan?
Do you have pictures with it set up as the captains bed?

Hi Jamie,
I got the plans at Woodzone. I modified them for bottom drawer placement.
I also added the changing table on my own quick design to match the crib slats.
For the captain’s bed, I simply removed the crib slats and drawers for a larger base and placed his mattress on top.

Nice design! Are the 3 vertical drawers removable? Cute baby. He will be in kindergarten soon.

Thanks, Don.
Lucky for me, he was willing to test-drive while I was finishing the changing table!

Hi Simon,
Yes. The drawers are a separate unit and they can be removed to make the base large enough for a toddler-size mattress.
HE gets to move this monster when he outgrows it!!!

Nice work! How many hours did it take? Sweet! It doubles as a bed later! Thank you both for sharing.
