No I don’t think it is very credible as real wood. The wavy one is just fun.

More eveneer. This time on New Guinea Rosewood, aka Narra,
which I started with because when dry, the lighter parts of the veneer looked gold-ish.
When I found out that they look quite brown with either water-based poly or oil-based,
I had to stain the NGR. Really I learned long ago that you have to apply finish to
scraps .. or to the box-inside .. early in each project.

Oh silly me, it was getting pretty late last night when I posted this ..
I was talking about the inside and forgot to add the pic of it.

The flash made them all washed-out too.

Well it looks impressive thats for sure!
Now just what is it please?...in particular the pretend aspect of the macassar?... I will have to go research it…!!
