The trays are made out of maple and the frame is black walnut. Both the frame and the trays have contrasting splines in the corners.

That’s the one from a recent magazine… Any problems in construction? I’ve been pondering making one.

Those are pretty nice, clean execution and nice choice of woods.

So I got the in box, the out box, but the box in the middle ? what’s up with that, the not quite in, not quite out box ? heck, that would be the one that was stuffed full for me :)

Well done Joe I made one for the wife a while back and she loved it. I like the quadruple spline accents I only made two on mine.

Very cool in and out boxes. Man that would make you look important at work. The boss would have to have one then you’d be making them for everyone. Unless you work for yourself. Nice work beautiful boxes.

Beautiful, they would look great on my desk…if you need a place to store them.

Really very nice looking in/out trays for office use.
One of your staff might be so tempted to take out-mails together with one the tray.

The plan is from a recent (this year) issue of Woodsmith. It’s straightforward, but fairly ‘fussy’ for want of a better word. I finished it with about 6 coats of amber shellac.
