Park City Mission Arts Crafts Style Comission $$

Project by DAN posted 867 days ago 589 views 0 times favorited 8 comments Add to Favorites Watch

I do not have many photos to share of my work hanging in the buyers home. This buyer has sent me the best photos.

My woodwork is the 2 long vertical framed tile displays hanging between the windows.

Customer started buying my work on ebay, and became a loyal repeat customer. Merridee eventually started her own collection of antque tiles and comissioned me to design and make a few frames. The photos are her kitchen in Park City.

First photo is the finished project. Tiles are 4 inch Grueby tiles. Excellent curdeled glaze with nice color.
Note the authentic antique Limbert table and chairs.

Second photo is the before photo of her kitchen.

Third photo is a finished piece with a little detail.

Frame is quartersawn white oak, mortice and tenon pegged construction w/ bookmatched sides, golden oak dye, danish oil, armorseal, garnett shellac and minwax antique mahogany paste wax.

The lattice work on this piece is 3/8×3/4 strips of qswo, half-lap joinery and 1/8 pegged.

Dan, Very beautiful designs.

It sounds like you are doing a pretty good business on Ebay.

These are great Dan. Nice to see them displayed. I like they way they fit in with the decor, and how the sun shines through them. Well done.

Very nice Dan. Dramatic look.

Seeing that table and chairs makes me think back to when I was a kid. The elementary school I attended was torn down to make way for a new school in the early seventies. All the old quartersawn oak chairs, desks, tables, everything was simple demolished along with the rest of the building. I was only 15 at the time but even I knew that was stupid. I did manage to sneak in (signs of a misspent youth) and take the principals chair before the wrecking ball came.

What a beautiful idea to hang them in the window area.. It’s like the house was built around them.
