My wife wanted a coffee table for our living room something that would match the mid-century character of our house. I found the plan for this table in a Fine Wood Working. The original plan called for it to be made of all walnut. Being relatively new at woodworking and not wanting to ruin a bunch of expensive Walnut I decided to build a scaled down version of the coffee table with a piece of cherry plywood, some walnut scraps and old fir I had lying around. The Mock-up went together better than I expected so sanded it and applied a few coats of Finish. It is now sitting as an end table in a Friend’s house.
I used a domino joiner for the frame, my router table to rough out the pencil rolled edge and refined the curve with a scraper.
