Customer requested light wood and didn’t want to spend a lot. OK, 18 8foot construction grade 2×4s later this is what she got. I didn’t want to spend a lot either. I do like how it turned out though. I had to split about a dozen of those studs and managed a pretty nice book match on all sides.

I have to sat for 2×4 lumber you killer it. Goes to show ya what can be accomplished w/o breaking the bank. The book matching really sets it off.. Well done!

I absolutely agree that the grain selection and bookmatching make this piece a standout. Great job!

Good design, and a great example of what can be done with simple construction grade lumber!

Nice work. A little brainwork goes a long way.

Never seen, nor even thought about book-matched 2×4’s! great idea and a terrific execution. Now don’t go hanging any coats on those hooks and cover up the beautiful work!
