I saw a drawing somewhere in my travels on the Internet and thought it would make a cool band saw box. So I drew up a diagram and gave it a shot.

Pretty standard band saw box procedure, but cutting the teeth was a nightmare as there wasn’t a lot of room for error.
So just taking my time and sweating a bunch was the order of the day. Another BS box where I didn’t want to mess up the front with handles for the drawers, so I drilled holes in the back so the drawers could be pushed out with a finger.

The box is Oak. I FINALLY got the formula right with the vinegar and steel wool formula, so the head is stained Oak while the drawers are the natural color. The drawers are lined with black flocking and the whole thing has several coats of gloss poly. Size is about 10 W x 7 H x 4 D.

Funny note. I have had a “store” on Etsy for a couple of years. Listed various items and this skull box is the FIRST thing that I have EVER sold on Etsy. The woman bought it for her boyfriend for Christmas, so maybe this year people are going to cut loose with some money!!! And it looks like they are starting early. So get busy fellas.

Thank for looking!!!

phil7b7 that’s great, now I can find out where I saw this. Where did you come across the picture or drawing or whatever it was? Yours is the mirror image of mine, your drawers are dark and mine are light etc. Pretty cool!

It came out real nice , Ray. I like the push holes in the back to open the drawers.

Perfection! Superb band saw box- design and execution. Is that an insert/brass label I see on the back? Snazzy, for sure.

Funny I’ve been making these for years. It’s actually my profile pic for this sight.
