These 6-in-1 duck whistles were handcrafted from some Ambrosia Maple that I rescued after the trees had to be taken down, following a storm in North Carolina. Thus, the wood alone makes this a unique call, has a couple of different stories tied up within.

These particular pieces are even more special because they actually have some Ambrosia Beetle larvae tunnels revealed. They were left and stabilized for the owner to enjoy. Why “small, yet profound?” The overall sense of the interconnectedness with wonderful creation – wood created by nature and the insect kingdom, crafted by man and then used to call beautiful creatures within sighting. That connection is profound.

We all sense this in various manners I understand…chair makers, violin makers, furniture…working wood, just amazing.

These whistles will create the realistic sounds of the Drake Mallard, Teals, Drake Widgeon, Woodie (Wood duck), Pintails, Bobwhite Quail and could serve as a safety whistle while hunting.
