Finally had time to complete a project. This is a walnut and curly maple table that was made for my Grandparents who just moved up from Florida. The apron is attached to the legs with sliding dovetails and the top is attached with figure 8’s. Legs start at 1 5/8” at the top down to 1” o nthe bottom. I finished it with 3 coats of T.O. and will probably put a few coats of wipe on poly once the oil cures for a couple of weeks. In hindsight I wish I would have done a bit more to the design. If I could do it over I would have made the aprons wider and maybe addes some stretchers. A nice inlay would have been great to. But in the end I just wanted to complete the project. I guess projects never really feel completed. Any critiques or criticism is appreciated and thanks for looking.

Thanks for all the great comments. I am no genius when it comes to photography so I guess I need to work on it. I really loved the figure in the curly maple and MY pictures never seem to capture it. I added one more pic with the evening light and it came out a bit better, but still doesn’t do the wood justice. Thanks for looking and any more comments or critiques are always welcome. Cheers

I can’t beleive I missed this. A stunningly beautiful table. It looks just about right to me. Really like the figured maple used. Your grandparents are lucky.
Have your say...
