This was my first table I ever made. It was a project I finished while taking a woodworking course at the University of New Hampshire. I made quite a few mistakes during this project, but that only means that I learned a lot as well. Definitely a fun project.
The table top was made out of imbuia while the legs were made out of hard maple. The joinery between the two legs were the work of my first mortise and tenons.

Your off to a great start here, thinking outside of the box, and a nice finish.

Very unique and excellent job. Why didn’t you try something more difficult for your first table? (:

Very creative. That’s got to make quite a conservation piece. I like it.

Thank you all for the comments and kind words.
Karson – It took a lot of work but I managed to get an A in the course. I’ll have to post my bandsaw box that I made as well. It’s just as unique.
Blockhead – This definitely was a challenging first table but I’m always up for a good challenge. As a beginner to woodworking, no matter what I decided to make was going to be a challenge, so why not go for the gold?
