Another grandson project taken this time from a book of working wooden toy plans. The main blade rotates on the simple cog mechanism seen in the 3rd picture. The tail rotor spins free. The handle looks a bit ungainly but seems to work fine both for running along the floor or “flying”. The wheels did not grip until I thought of using and old drive belt from a washing machine as the treads.

My grandson lives in NZ and is only a few months ,, nearly 6 months now … old… and will soon be needing toys like this. Nice one.
