Simple moxon vice for my newly made light duty workbench. It’s made of the same very old oak barn wood as the bench. The only thing that was purchased was 5/8” threaded steal rod, and some 6 minute epoxy. I mortised and epoxied the bolts on the underside of the bench and for the handle cranks.

The vice is 32” wide with 16” between centers on the threaded rod. 5-5/8” tall with approx. 2-1/16” on top and bottom of the threaded rods for clamping. For a 3 hour project I’m pretty happy with how it came out and the clamping pressure it provides.

Thanks for looking,

Paul

Easy and not over-done. Nice and functional.
