Great project and great execution.
Where did you get the plans? I saw a similar design (I don’t remember where) but the seat was higher off the ground.
I agree that this would be perfect for sitting around a campfire. Any comments on comfort?

That looks awesome. I too am interested in where you got the plans for this. Also this would make a nice blog if you hadn’t thought about it.

I saw plans like this at Rockler/Woodcraft in one of those little packages on the stand by the checkout. BTW, very nice chairs. I wanted to make some for our camping trip to Lake Tahoe, but my girlfriend said I can worry about stuff like that after the dining room table is made for Thanksgiving. I must admit, I have to agree with her on that…

If you Google “Canadian Home Workshop Beach Chair” you should find it. If not, e-mail me and I will send you a link. It seems pretty comfortable, but better suited for kids and lighter individuals. If I made another one for my sized body, I would beef it up a little from the stock dimensions. Pretty easy to build once you get the templates made for the curves. The slats go really quickly. Easy weekend project.
