I purchased the plans for these speakers from Bob Brines in AR for $25. There’s a lot of science behind his designs. He designed the cabinets for the MarkAudio A10 Alpair driver. This is a single driver speaker with no electronics. I am delighted with their performance. Voice and sound staging is great.

The speakers will not be used as placed in the picture. They’re going in another room for listening. I made them for a 300B valve amp I made a couple years ago. These speakers are very efficient and pair well with the 10W output from the tube amp.

Awesome! Great job on the speakers and I’m quite jealous of your setup. Enjoy the great sounds, the fruits of your labor.

Really nice job on both the speakers and the amp. I’ve been considering building a pair of single driver speakers for myself for some time. This is even more encouraging to get started. Enjoy them!

Hi Doc,
Each time I listen to them I am more amazed with the sound. The cones take some time to break in. I have owned Thiel CS1.5 speakers for 15 years. I love them. Those are my reference and I believe the MLT’s have a bigger, maybe better sound. The high end is amazing but the biggest surprise is the bass. Sound is very hard to describe. I’m not going around listening to other speakers. Ignorance is bliss and easier on the wallet.

I took a leap of faith on building these and I’m more than pleased. If you are in need of speakers take the plunge.
