My 2nd kinetic sculpture designed by Clayton Boyer. This one was quite a bit more complex than the first one. Built from Ash and Maple – it required the making of 57 separate pieces and required 88 holes be drilled. Once I had it all together, it still took a considerable amount to time to tweak the various areas so that it would run properly.
The marbles were added to create a balance on the balance wheel. Finally I had to add 4 brass screws to the other end for a final good balance.
You can see it in motion on YouTube at: Now on to my next project. You comments are welcome.

Thanks for sharing.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

This sculpture will run for several hours before rewinding… I have not timed it to get the exact time.
