Local urban- lumber redwood slabs with great figure ! We sliced about 50 of them today 10 feet long everything 3 inches thick. The last pic is of a load of walnut stumps I bought , roots and all .After pressure washing they will be sliced into slabs also up to six feet wide . I am hoping for some artistic pieces to blend into entry doors .

All the slabs are 10 feet long and 3 inches thick. They vary from 15 to 25 inches wide due to the natural edges. The walnut stumps are 2 to 8 feet wide.

Rob, those are some gorgeous pieces of redwood. The walnut stumps look like they are going to yield some beautiful patterns. When you slab them out post some pictures for us, if you can.

So cool you take the time for the stump and root parts. Probably will be some of the best, though it takes more work to make usable.
Beautiful wood!

Thanks for the comments guys. These series of slabs really caught my eye as good table top material. But, realistically I personally might make one piece of furniture from them, time permitting. Mostly I sell these beautiful pieces to other woodworkers, designers, architects, etc. I need to make more $ so I can buy more wood, so I can afford the machinery to cut the wood faster to make more…....

Post some pics of the walnut when you cut it open. I’d love to see what the innards of an ole’ stump looks like.

The coloring is similar to Juniper…....do you do much with Juniper? Might be able to hook you up!!!!
Most people in Central Oregon hate juniper because either they’re alergic to it or they think it’s a “weed”......if they only knew what they could build out of it and how beautiful “wood is in general”.
