This is an artsy thing I made in a woodturning class at Annapolis Woodworks where I have been taking classes for some time. I doubt you will ever find this hanging in the Louvre, but I learned a lot in making it. Because I think it looks like someone throwing up their arms and yelling, “Hooray”, that’s what I decided to call it. I’ll probably hang it on my office wall just for fun. It’s made from red oak. I turned it on the lathe and then cut it into strips on the bandsaw and rearranged them. The black lines were burnt in on the lathe using a kitchen countertop sample card. The gold paint was brushed on and then partially wiped off.
