This pen is made from wood gifted by Karson. Ironwood, I do believe it is. Isn’t the wood beautiful?
I, unfortunately, broke the second half of the blank (the drill bit wasn’t centred correctly) so I’ve missed out on having two of these gorgeous pens. But… the “plus” is that I got this one!
This pen doesn’t have a purpose at this time (all the other pens were made for birthday presents – yes, it’s been a busy month for birthdays!
I just want to give a big thanks to Karson for this (and the other) beautiful wood that you sent me.

You are welcome Debbie. The pen sure looks great.
Keep one for yourself. I’ve kept a Desert Ironwood pen for my use also.

The whole pen turning experience is pretty cool by itself, but add a nice piece of wood and it don’t get no better than that. Very well done young lady.

Ms Debbie, that looks like Aussie ironwood. Very hard wood. Great job

Nice, I’ve never used Iron wood. It grows here but is not plentiful. Did it turn nicely?

can’t remember exactly.. but I do remember that the cherry burl that Karson sent me was really tough and the barnboard was so soft it took a lot of concentration.
So with those two eliminated I would say that the ironwood was nice to use.
Having said that, however, the second piece that I have (and broke) I am trying to save but i keep finding soft spots and holes that are wreaking havoc. I think, though, that is the piece of wood and not the type of wood as a whole.
(Look at me.. sounds like I almost know what I’m talking about!) haha
