A salad bowl for my mum turned out of camphor laurel.
nice timber, easy to work, its a shame there destroying it (It’s a weed over here)
smells very nice too
finished with EEE Ultra Shine and Shellawax

These bowls have come out very nice. The wood is so good it should be cultivated instead of destroying as weed. At this age you are doing a fantastic job. Have you got your band saw or not?

sharad- it is a shame about the timber. in many places it’s just bieng bulldozed and burned. And no, i dont have my own bandsaw…yet. I’m buying all my blanks “pre-roundified” untill I get one (within the next month or so)
