Project Information

I helped a buddy build his first woods project by building my own and walking through marc's cutting board videos. The left most set is my buddies and the right most set are mine. We each chose to make two smaller boards rather than one large board based on our wives comments of them being too heavy. The first picture is after I put a coat of salad bowl finish on them and the second picture is after we used them for a while.

I used purpleheart and rock maple. I like the way the wood part came out but the finish really looked bad after using it and washing it a few times…

These are some really nice boards. You chose a nice wood combination as well. The ph and maple contrast with one another well.

Marc is probably wishing by now that he received a commission from everyone thathas copied his boards…He could probably go on a nice vacation by now : } Nice job on both of your projects. It must have been fun to do them together .

looks great … try coating the dried out boards with walmart mineral oil … keep the bottle around and when it dries out again give it another coat and so-on
